What I Talk About When I Talk About Myself

I'm Kamome (seagull). I occasionally refer to myself as "the Author". I know English and Spanish; know some French and Japanese; and want to learn German.

I was introduced to Neocities via a thread of "cool internet websites" I found on one of my favorite small imageboards. I loved the amateur nature of the sites my dear anons created, as well as the diversity of the content itself. Whenever a new Neocities domain was posted in that thread, I was excited to go take a look.

Over time, I became more confident that this was a GOOD community to be a part of. And feeling safe here, I decided that maybe I could share my ideas with you all. I set up my own Neocities with the intent that it would be a blog. This is still true: these pages function as a place to put my writing. But I'm working on growing something else here too.

When I look at all the projects I've thought about hosting / tried to host on this Neocities instance, a theme comes across. Informal collaboration around niche interests. It can be awfully lonely on the internet. Especially the internet that has become dominated by social media interactions. My eventual goal for my presence on the intenet is to learn how to bring people together over small, strictly amateur projects. I believe that's what the internet was meant to be.

Stay tuned as this site continues to grow!

I exist very impermanently on regular social media and would rather not disclose my accounts here. My other writings can be found at animeforums.net and the Cosmic Voyage tilde community. If you'd like to get in touch, please send a letter off to kamome.bk@protonmail.com, or leave a comment on my Neocities profile. Especially if you're another Webmaster, I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you for your time & stay comfy, space cowboys
